Medici Archive Treasures for Licensing

Medici unveiled for the first time its unique archive collection for licensing opportunities in 2002. The archive holds a wealth of over 37,000 exquisite designs and illustrations dating from 1908.

This extensive archive collection is now is available for the first time for licensing opportunities, which would suit a wide array of product from ceramics, textiles, plush, and collectables through to home accessory products.

We are thrilled with the continuing enthusiastic response to our archive artwork. Medici's unique collection is unrivalled within the greeting card and stationery industry and we are delighted that we can now offer more and more of this to manufacturers from other industries.

Obviously all the artwork within the Medici archive is eminently suitable for paper products as this was its original purpose, but Medici has seen some very successful translations of the artwork to three-dimensional product. Margaret Tarrant's Fairies brand continues to be very popular with licensees, and garden statues based on her fairy artwork have been generating good revenue for the manufacturers. It is also wonderful to see licensees such as stationery manufacturer Palphot in Israel giving the Tarrant fairies a more contemporary look.

Medici is particularly excited to be able to offer the entire Molly Brett collection to licensees. This well-known artist, whose whimsical animal paintings have been loved by generations of children, has a magical quality to her work which is increasingly hard to find amongst contemporary children's properties. Several publishers have expressed an interest in re-issuing her 20 children's books, and US toy company Schylling is using her artwork on an increasing number of its product ranges.

Medici's treasure trove of traditional illustration holds work by classic children's illustrators such as Margaret Tempest, Muriel Dawson and Racey Helps, as well as a fine selection of botanical flower studies, landscapes, animals, garden images and a large collection of classic 50s and 60s graphic designs and illustrations.
