'The Dance of the Spirit of Ireland, The Alhambra Music Hall'
Spencer Frederick Gore (1878-1914)
Spencer Gore was a founder member of the Camden Town Group. They were a loose group of artists who exhibited together and led the way in modernising English painting. They started to use bright, vivid colours, simplified shapes and thick matt paint to show what they saw around them. Spencer Gore’s working life was very short as he died of pneumonia, aged only 36. He studied at the Slade where he became friends with Harold Gilman and Wyndham Lewis, both later members of the Camden Town group. Meeting Walter Sickert in Dieppe changed Gore’s painting style forever .
Our standard prints are reproduced on a premium semi matt finish paper. Its micro-porous resin coating provides exceptional colour accuracy and stability
Our watercolour board has a natural white finish with a slightly structured, soft-textured surface equivalent to a traditional etching fine art paper. The surface has a special matte coating, designed for high quality fine art reproduction with giclée technology. It is an archival quality paper with great colour accuracy.
