Frederick Morgan (1856-1927) specialized in pictures of children, rustic idealized peasants, baby animals, and jolly sailors with twinkling eyes. Morgan's paintings were very Humorous, and very popular. Fred Morgan lived in Aylesbury, and later in London. As well as light-hearted subjects, Morgan also made some good attempts at serious work such as "The Pedlar". "His Turn Next", a picture of children and dog with bath was an advertisement for Pears Soap. He is beloved for his paintings of children of the 19th century as they play. Here we find them in family gatherings.
