David Woodlock (1842-1929) was born in Eire but made his home in Liverpool where he studied art. He went on to contribute to the cultural life of the city, becoming a member of the Liverpool Academy of Arts and helping to found the Liver Sketching Club. He worked in oil and watercolour, painting mostly cottage and garden pictures.
