Artist Biography

Eugene-Henri Cauchois (1850-1911) – Eugene-Henri Cauchois was born in Rouen, France. and studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris under Ferdinand Duboc and Alexandre Cabannel. Cauchois painted still lifes mainly of flowers, occasionally with fruit, vegetables, vases or clocks, and sometimes set in a landscape or garden. He first had a painting accepted for exhibition at the Paris Salon 1874. He was elected a member of the Société des Artistes Français in 1890. From the late 1890s into the early 1900s he won three medals: third place, a bronze and second place.
