David Adolf Constant Artz (1837-1890) studied painting at the Academy in Amsterdam, where he became influenced by Josef Israels (1824-1911), Israels was a founder member of the Hague School, a group of Dutch painters characterised by their impressionistic approach to nature and genre painting expressed through vigorous brush strokes and vivid colour. Artz travelled in Scotland, England, Spain and Italy before settling in Paris where he met Jacob Maris, also a member of the Hague School.
Our standard prints are reproduced on a premium semi matt finish paper. Its micro-porous resin coating provides exceptional colour accuracy and stability
Our watercolour board has a natural white finish with a slightly structured, soft-textured surface equivalent to a traditional etching fine art paper. The surface has a special matte coating, designed for high quality fine art reproduction with giclée technology. It is an archival quality paper with great colour accuracy.
