Artist Biography

Francisco Miralles (1848-1901 was born ln Valencia in 1848. He studied art in Madrid, and later moved to Paris. He specialised in painting portraits and scenes of fashionable Parisian contemporary life. He frequently used his sisters, Carmen and Gabrielle, as models for his elegant young ladies at the races or in the park. Between 1875 and 1896 he had several paintings hung in the Salon des Beaux Arts in Paris.
