Joshua Hargrave Sams Mann (c.1826-1886) lived in London and exhibited regularly at the Royal Academy from 1850, at the Royal Society of British Artists and at Suffolk Street (128 works). His paintings included subjects from Milton, Byron, Coleridge and Tennyson, some portraits, and many genre scenes. He also travelled in Europe, painting in France, Italy and Spain. One of his paintings, ‘A Mother and Child’ was exhibited at the International Exhibition held in South Kensington in 1862. He exhibited two paintings called ‘The Wedding Morning’ at the Royal Academy, one in 1855, the other in 1864.
