Joan Miro (1893-1983) studied at the School of Fine Art, Barcelona. In 1920 he moved to Paris where he met Picasso. Miro, who was also a sculptor, developed a unique art of his own, his pictures showing shapes of flat colour usually joined by lines, often including strange humorous figures.
