Artist Biography

Plinio Nomellini (1866-1934) was born in Livorno, and he attended the School of Arts and Crafts there before studying in Florence under Giovanni Fattori. He became an important figure in the Tuscan school of Impressionism, and a leading protagonist of Divisionism. He also painted, in an Impressionist manner, a series of plein-air portraits of his family.
