William Weekes (1856-1909) lived in Primrose Hill, London. He came from an artistic family: while his father Henry Weekes (1807-1877), was a sculptor, he and several of his brothers achieved a degree of recognition for their paintings. He was a genre and animal painter, and exhibited successfully from the 1880s onwards at the Royal Academy and other London galleries. He specialised in pictures of animals which are often humorous either because they are posed in human situations or are given quirky titles.
Our standard prints are reproduced on a premium semi matt finish paper. Its micro-porous resin coating provides exceptional colour accuracy and stability
Our watercolour board has a natural white finish with a slightly structured, soft-textured surface equivalent to a traditional etching fine art paper. The surface has a special matte coating, designed for high quality fine art reproduction with giclée technology. It is an archival quality paper with great colour accuracy.
